This ministry visits or mails cards to those confined to a nursing home. We offer prayer, Bible study, encouragement and love. We let them know they are not forgotten by their church family. The residents are so grateful and hungry for this ministry. This ministry also hosts Bible studies and hosts a service at the Joplin Healthcare Center on Sunday afternoons from 1-2:00 pm There is no service on the third Sunday of each month. We gather in the dining room, sing and play hymns and share a short message. As time permits, we visit with residents.

First Serve/Ministry Opportunities

• Bible teaching: We meet at 10:00 am on Mondays at National Healthcare for Bible study with residents.
• Bible teaching: Another class is held on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm at the Joplin Health and Rehab Center.
• Sharing testimony: Come share a short personal testimony of God’s grace.
• Singing and music: Come and sing or play an instrument as we sing the old hymns many residents know.
• Observation and information: Come observe a service with us any Sunday (except the third Sunday of each month) at Joplin Healthcare at 1:00 pm.
