Recovery from Losses in Life
Band of Hope is a Christ-centered program designed to provide individuals with confidential support and guidance to develop the skills for making necessary changes to live with loss in a healthy way. This workshop will meet once a week for nine weeks for approximately two hours, and is offered three times a year. One-on-one consultation is available upon request.
The Program Includes:
- Confidential support and encouragement during recovery from a crisis.
- Christian guidance toward healing from a loss in a healthy way.
- Optional nine-week Bible study for personal spiritual healing, growth and recovery.
- Experience a self-help group in which group members help each other by talking in a safe, supportive, confidential and loving environment.

What Is Loss?
Loss is any event that destroys a person’s understanding of the meaning of life.
Examples include:
- Death of a loved one
- Domestic violence
- Empty nest syndrome
- Relocation/moving
- Life-altering accident
- Loss of possessions - fire, bankruptcy, etc.
- Loss of child/grandchild due to abortion, miscarriage, SIDS, stillbirth, custody disputes
- Loss of hopes and dreams - as life advances and circumstances demand change
- Loss of profession/career/job
- Separation/divorce
- Advancing age/declining health
- Family lifestyle changes
- Chronic/terminal illness
- Changes in mobility

- Inviting: Every person can participate in this ministry. When you find yourself in the middle of a struggle or sitting next to someone that is struggling, you can help them find hope. Give them a card or brochure and let them know that they are not alone. Lead them to Band of Hope—any time; any place.
