It was sweet to have yesterday off so we could worship and recharge our internal batteries. Today we were back in full swing and three people made a commitment to follow Jesus at Mission Joplin! Yes, it is hot, but when we see God drawing people to Himself, it is SO WORTH IT! Our amazing volunteers say that we really need queen size sheets, laundry detergent, pull-ups, shaving cream, hairspray, 50 lawn chairs, and 50 tents.

You can volunteer for as little as a two hour shift, or for half a day, or all day. We have people to train you but the most important thing is simply loving the hurting people who come by for help. People ask me if I’m devastated. I say “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)

It is amazing to see so many wonderful people working together to help people in need! We fed HUNDREDS of people today, removed debris, salvaged possessions, prayed with the grieving, gave away clothes, supplies, water, etc. Thank you God for using our church to help people!

Tomorrow’s needs:
